Namaste. David Woodland (pictured here) plays a soulful harmonica on this one. Namaste is a Hindu word meaning "I honor the divinity in you." I am acknowledging, from the highest holiest level of my being to the highest holiest level of your being, that we are one in the heart of God. This song was a little miracle of healing for me. I once was finding it hard to accept someone without judgements, and I prayed for help in seeing the person from the highest point of view - knowing that God sees all his children in their spiritual perfection and sinlessness, as extensions of himself (herself, if you prefer). I began repeating an affirmation from Unity: "I behold the Christ in you." Variations kept running through my mind ("I see the goodness in you", "I see the love in your heart") for the next few days, and it turned into a chant, and then a song. By the time it was completed, lo and behold, the other person had changed! Or so it seemed. Of course, it was I who had undergone the change. ©2003 Marcy Matasick.
I behold the beauty in you. I can see the beauty in me.
I am touched by the love in your heart. I extend the love in mine.
I honor the goodness in you. I embrace my goodness, too.
I rejoice in the joy of your spirit. Let the joy in me shine through.
Namaste, namaste, [etc.]
I respect the wisdom in you. I speak from the wisdom in me.
Let us call on our wisdom to guide us into peace and harmony
Namaste, namaste (good in you and me)
Namaste, namaste (love is what I see)
Namaste, namaste (all around the world)
Namaste, namaste
Namaste, namaste (God in you and me)
Namaste, namaste (we are divinity)
Namaste, namaste (whole wide world around)
Namaste, namaste

All Awaken. In our day to day lives it's hard to stay in touch with our spiritual nature. But in meditation I've experienced my spiritual self as very present - even more real than my physical form. While my body is temporary and subject to continual changes, aging, and death, my spiritual self is timeless and changeless and cannot die. I believe our spiritual nature is our ultimate reality, and we are all able to access it. Eventually, every one of us will wake up to the reality of ourselves as eternal spiritual beings, eternally loved by God and eternally loving. Why not welcome this awakening? This song does just that. ©2008 Marcy Matasick.  Percussion: Clay Lowder; sax: Sam Rhodes; lead guitar and bass: Norm Toy
One of these days, we will all awaken
One beautiful day we will wake up from the dream.
Now it
s time for a new beginning
Time to walk the path of love
Time to end the strife, make a better life,
here on earth, like in heaven above.
We
re gonna break those chains that bind us,
Gonna stop repeating the past
Let His kingdom come, let His will be done
with a peace in our hearts that will last
One of these days, we will all awaken
One day real soon we
re gonna wake up from the dream.
When at last we all awaken,
we will find out we shared the same dream
And all the roles we played, on the human stage
will disappear,
cause they don
t mean a thing.
Til then we
ll celebrate our differences
See the beauty in every one
You know this tapestry is made of you and me
and every color under the sun.
One of these days, we will all awaken
One sweet beautiful day we will wake up from the dream.
So everybody sing "Alleluia!" Raise your voices to the skies,
cause it wont be long
til we all sing one song
and we all will harmonize.
One of these days, one precious day, we will wake up from the dream
we
re gonna wake up, wake up, wake up
gonna wake up, wake up, wake up
gonna wake up from the dream, wake up from the dream
wake up from the dream.

Yours From This Moment. I've turned my life over to God. Many times. And just as many times I've taken it back again to try to run things myself. This song is an affirmation, a statement that I'm turning it over, once and for all - until the next time. (The fact that I wrote the song 19 years ago and I still need to sing it, tells you a bit about this struggle.)  ©1991 Marcy Matasick. I thank Peter Kirk for the percussion, bass, and English horn. Norm Toy captured the feeling on the piano.
Thy will be done through me today;
thy will and mine are the same
I want to go wherever you say - only lead the way
God, I'm yours from this moment on
God, I'm yours from this moment on.
I want to dwell in you all the time
and feel you dwelling in me
speak through me, act thru me, live thru me, love thru me
Thy kingdom come through me
God, I'm yours from this moment on
God, I'm yours from now on
never want to stray from you again.
God, grant me strength to never doubt your unfailing support
and grant me the wisdom to know your will
and power to carry it out.
God, I'm yours from now on
God, you know that I
m yours
God, I
m yours, I give myself to you, I give my life to you, I give my all to you.
God, Im yours

God Bless Everyone!
Every one of us - every living being - deserves respect, consideration and abundant blessings. So I say, God bless everyone in the whole wide world! And I'll say it and pray it and sing it, over and over. ©2006 Marcy Matasick. David Woodland on harmonica, Issa Malluf on congas, and Norm Toy on keyboard and bass.
God’s good belongs to everyone:
let it be showered on all, with no end
God’
s good belongs to everyone:
kindness and blessings from my heart I send
God bless everyone, bless everyone, bless everyone, bless everyone!
No exceptions!
Sacred you, sacred me - let our eyes be open now to see
Holy you, holy me, children of God, we are all one family
God bless everyone, etc.
All living things that swim or walk, fly or crawl —
all creatures great and small
Each one a sacred precious life: it’
s up to us to love and protect them all
So, God bless everyone, etc.
I let my love flow freely now; won’
t let no fear nor anger block the way
I let my love flow freely now. Without a doubt, I mean it when I say:
God bless everyone, etc.
I wish you peace, I wish you joy, May you be happy now and forever more
I wish you peace, I wish you joy. May all the joy in all the world be yours
Yes, God bless everyone, etc.

Pecos Wilderness
Honored. One magical Indian summer day, I was walking in the Sandia mountains of New Mexico, listening to the birds and cicadas and feeling the breeze. They all seemed to be singing, "Here I am! I am Life! I am a glorious expression of the One life, the Life of all life!" I felt deeply moved and greatly honored to live among this awesome life. When I got home from the hike, I sat down and wrote the song in 15 minutes. ©2003 Marcy Matasick. Sam Rhodes plays the magical sax, Norm Toy adds counterpoint with cello sounds.
The bird sings; he says: "I am here!"
And cicada, her song repeating: "Here am I!"
And the breeze, she blows gently through my hairAnd the trees
the trees breathe life into the air
I am honored to be among these living ones
Yes, I am honored to share this life with these holy ones
I am honored.
The earth lives, her energy shimmering
And she gives birth to new life, birthing constantly
Each new life has but a moment in time
to sing its song, to give its love, only a moment in time
I embrace every moment, every instant I am here
I want to be right here, right now
present in this life so dear
this life so dear.
I am a soul, and I say "I am here!"
I am spirit, appearing on earth, saying "Here am I!"
We are life, one life, living together
Why not hold each other
s hands, and dance together?
I am honored to live and die in this sacred place, sacred earth
What a privilege to spend a life in this blessed living earth
I am honored. I am honored.

Peter Kirk
You Are Everything. A love song to the Divine life manifesting in all living things. ©1992 Marcy Matasick. Arrangement and all instrumentation (except my guitar) by Peter Kirk, pictured here. Recorded at Pleiadian Productions, Santa Fe, NM and engineered by Peter Kirk.
You are the fields of flowers, red, yellow, blue
You are the warmth of sunlight, the sparkle of dew
You are the breeze that lifts the bird on its wing
You are the breath of my life - you are everything
You are the life of all life - you are everything.
You give the fragrance to the lilac and rose
You paint the pastel sunsets on mountains in snow
You are the surge of life that flows in the spring
You are the source of all life - you are everything
You are the love of my life - you are everything
You are the love the that flows through me, you are my life
You are everything to me. You are everything to me.
I hear your voice in the silence, sometimes when I pray
I hear your voice in the laughter of children at play
I hear your voice in this old guitar as she sings
You are the song in my heart - you are everything
You are the sound of creation - you are everything
You are the voice of wisdom that guides us to you
To your love where we belong, to the oneness in you.
You are the life of all life - you are everything
You are the breath of my life - you are everything
You are the song in my heart - you are everything
You are the love of my life - you are everything
And my heart belongs in you. We all belong in you.

Issa Malluf
In Me, Through Me, As Me. This is a prayer asking the Divine to express in and through me,  folk-blues style. ©2001 Marcy Matasick.
Issa Malluf on congas (pictured here), David Woodland on harmonica, and Norm Toy playing the tasteful lead guitar licks.
If I were on my own, God, I don't think I'd want to try
Life would have no meaning. Every day I'd wonder - why?
Then I hear Your Voice within me, whisper soft and low
the quiet voice of wisdom telling me I know:
that you live in me, through me, as me
You live, you live, in me, through me, as me
You live in me, through me, as me -
Just like you live in everybody.
This world can seem so cold, lord - strangers everywhere
poverty and violence, and no one seems to care
But when the love within us is what I want to see
I find it all around me shining back on me
'cause your love lives in me, through me, as me
love lives in me, (I can feel it) in through me, as me
love lives in me, through me, as me
uniting me with everybody.
God, I let you use me - I let you lead the way
Mold my life and shape it like a potter shapes the clay
Use me as a channel for your creativity
Help me find the holiness you placed inside of me
I let you live in me, through me, as me
Come on and live in me, through me, as me
I want you to live in me, through me, as me
Express your life forever in me!
Divine love, love the world through me
Infinity, express yourself through me
May joy and gladness celebrate, right here in me
The light of the world shine as me
In me, through me, as me, until your life is all that I see
In everything and everybody! In me, through me as me.

Truly Helpful. This oft-quoted prayer is on page 28 of A Course In Miracles text. I had this prayer posted on my desk in my psychotherapy office for 2 decades, as a reminder to put aside my ego's ideas of how to be helpful and let myself be guided by a higher wisdom, where Truth abides. Finally I set the prayer to music, adding a few lines from ACIM Workbook Lesson 154. ©2000 Marcy Matasick. David Woodland on harmonica, Norm Toy on synth violin, Clay Lowder on congas.
I am here only to be truly helpful
I am here to represent the One who sent me
Don’
t have to worry about what to say
or be concerned with what to do
cause he who sent me will direct me
I am here only to be truly helpful.
I’
m content to be anywhere he wishes
I’
m at ease, knowing that he goes there with me
As I let him teach me to heal,
I will be healed, I will be healed
cause he who sent me does the healing
I’
m content to be anywhere he wants me.
I’m just a messenger - I don’
t write the message I bring
I only listen and accept it for myself, and give as I receive.
I am here only to be truly helpful
I am here to represent the One who sent me
Don
t have to worry about what to say
or be concerned with what to do
cause he who sent me will direct me
I am here only to be truly helpful
I am here only to be truly helpful.

Animus River, CO
Life’s a River. Sometimes we have to just let go and trust in the flow of the Universe. One morning I was meditating on my sofa, trying to clear away some worries and reach a place of inner peace. An image came to mind of rafting down a calm river, and the things I was worried about appeared on the shore as I floated past. My first impulse was a desire to swim to shore and grapple with the problems. But as the raft floated around a bend in the river, I looked back and saw joyful scenes in the place where the problems had been moments before - as if everything had been solved without my effort. As I relaxed further into the peaceful floating feeling, I "heard" a melody in my mind, and lyrics began to "scroll" before my mental vision. After several minutes of basking in this peace and watching the lyrics flow by, I opened my eyes, grabbed my guitar, found the chords to the melody Id just heard, and the song was complete. Effortlessly. This was a lesson that my "grappling" and controlling behaviors don't solve anything, but looking at a problem from a place of inner peace can show me a higher point of view and lead to solutions. Memories of rafting North American rivers flooded my mind when the song came to me, but ever since Norm Toy added this sweet accordion to the song it makes me think of gondolas in Venice. ©1990 Marcy Matasick.
Imagine you're floating on a river of life, currents of God's love supporting you
colorful scenes on the shoreline go by - every twist & turn brings something new
always something new
Life's a river, let it flow. Love each moment, then let go
and you
ll see all the beauty this life has to show.
The river it changes, it laughs and it weeps, dances in the sunlight playing games
through turbulence and calm, through shallow and deep
still it keeps on flowing just the same
flowing just the same.
Life's a river, let it flow. Embrace the moment, then let go
And you
ll taste all the sweetness, all the joy you can know.
Feel the life of all life flowing through you in its course. Feel it in each heartbeat, in every breath
Life all flows from spirit, the never-ending source
spirit knows that there can be no death
there is no death.
Life's a river, let it flow. Love every moment, then let go
Give your love to life, and life will love you.
We can't push the river, we can't slow it down. Yet we often try to swim upstream
Why not flow with it? It knows where it's bound
Merrily, merrily, life is but a dream. It's only a dream
Life's a river, let it flow. Embrace this moment, then let
Let it flow, let it flow, let it flow.

Holy Ones. You are a holy God being. If you're reading this, you are being called to let your light shine and help bring heaven to earth. Time to rise up, answer the call, and shine! ©2004 Marcy Matasick. Norm Toy on organ and electric guitar. Clay Lowder on percussion.
We are the holy ones, bearers of light
We bring the light of hope into the night
So, let your light shine
(shine shine shine!)
Got to let it shine.
Now is the time
(time to answer the call).
Now is our time.
We
ll raise our consciousness and transform our lives.
We can heal the whole planet

one person at a time -
beginning with me (that's where it starts)
Let it begin with me!
Let my heart be healed (free to love without fear)
Let our hearts be healed!
We join our hearts, now, uniting in the heart of God
We feel the oneness now - for we are all the children of one God
We are the messengers of God's holy truth
.
This truth is the same for everyone,
cause everyone is the son of God
(every, every one)
We are all the one son of God
Nobody left out
(no exceptions at all)
We
re leaving no one behind.
God needs our lives to show
the peace and love we want to see
God needs our love to flow
to all the world that’
s waiting to be free
We are the holy ones, bearers of light
We bring the light of hope to this dark, dark night
Let the light shine
(shine shine shine!)
We
re gonna let it shine!
Now is the time
(time to answer the call)
Now is the only time
Rise up, holy ones
answer the call
Shine bright, holy ones —
your light is for all
Speak out, holy ones
no time to stall
We are the holy ones
we are the holy ones
we are the holy ones
We are all holy ones!

My deepest appreciation and thanks go to my beloved soul mate Tom Luebben (pictured here on a backpack trip in the San Juan mountains). Thank you so much, Tom, for enriching my life and for encouraging and supporting me in all that I do.
