I always have a song running through my head. Used to be sad songs: blues songs about longing and betrayal, folk ballads about hardship. Though I've worked hard to be positive and optimistic, those sad songs had a way of repeating like a continuous loop and bringing down my moods.
What I needed were some new songs. Songs about joy and oneness and God’s love for us, songs affirming the goodness within everyone and the holiness in all life.
One day I was praying for guidance about something, and a melody I’d never heard before began "playing" in my mind. As I listened, the lyrics unfolded to answer my prayer. It was exactly what I needed to hear.
Since then, many more songs have come to me. Songs about joy and oneness and God’s love, songs that affirm the goodness within everyone and the holiness in all life - just what I want repeating in my mind!
I feel very blessed by these songs. For a long time I thought they were for me alone. But people who heard them told me how touched they felt, and insisted "my" songs are meant to be shared. So I recently started recording them, and my first CD, Honored, is now available. It is my prayer that these songs will bless you as much as they have blessed me.
